The Evil Twin Paradox

With identical looks and similar hair
Never thought that they would turn on me
Everyone who saw was completely clear
But they’ve stolen my identity

I’m not to blame, though we look the same
We differ in so many ways
We’re in alternate times and separate paths
Can’t be two people in a single place

I wasn’t there (not what people saw)
It wasn’t me (not what people saw)

Was my evil twin
I’m innocent
It was nothing that I did
My evil twin
Not equivalent
Not me, God forbid!

A complete nightmare I can’t escape
It’s a soap opera that’s come to life
Every deed they do, every awful crime
Shreds my reputation like a knife

If I could move at the speed of light
I’d only age a single day
I might be tempted to do the same
It would help me make my getaway

I got old while they stayed young
I got scorned while they had fun
I stayed home, they flew through space
Leaving a disaster; such a disgrace

Can’t explain, won’t even try
No sense in my reality
If it doesn’t stop I’ll lose my mind
It’s hard to keep my sanity
