Piles of tasks in my queue
Dive on in, try to shrink the work
Look away the pile just grew
No surprise but somehow I knew

Time slips away…

Like sand in a glass
A blur sliding past
Nothing will slow it down
Fading to black
You can’t get it back
What’s lost will not be found

“Someday” draws from a shrinking pool
Each day becomes more rare/Fewer and fewer years/Time fades in the rear
Carpe diem while you can/Make it real while you can/Opportunity doesn’t last
It melts into thin air

I know what I want, got it all mapped out
Drew a path inside of my brain
Plodding along, keep the blinders on
Never mind the pain
Gonna make it, won’t complain

Closer I get, then the world has changed
Truth is suddenly false
Course correct, keep momentum up
Stop the dangerous thoughts
The gap is too large to cross

My dreams slip away…

Always tomorrow, never today
Believe no penalty for delay
And act surprised when it slips away
